Tony Simon was born in Nyack New York. He moved to Florida in the late 70's. He attended Sunstate Academy of Hair Design, at that time owned and operated by Ken and Jim Stone. Tony graduated and went to work at Top of the Line Barbershop in Englewood Florida. Two years later he went to work as an instructor for Sunstate Academy where he worked for five years.
Tony and his wife, Gayl, started PHD Hair Academy. Students from PHD Hair Academy, in 1987, made up the entire U.S. Olympic student men's hairstyling team. They competed in Germany and won 3rd place in the world for the U.S. team. Tony and Gail remained as an instructor and program manager for 27 years.
In 2005 Tony purchased Sunset Barbershop and has fulfilled a dream of owning an "Old Fashioned Barbershop". One of Tony's hobbies is fishing and some of his great catches are on display in the shop.

Mike Simon, brother to Tony, has been cutting hair for 25 years. He started at Sunset Point Barber shop in 2008.

Morris Hensley, "Mo", was born in Valdese, NC. A small town east of Asheville. "Mo" worked in manufacturing for 30 years,(Square D Company, Sonopress and Eva-Tone), mainly in metal fabrication, plastics and high speed packaging. After becoming burned out in the corporate/management world, he switched his career to barbering. In 2004 "Mo" enrolled in Sunstate Hair Academy and graduated in July of 2005. In August of 2005, he was hired at Sunset Point Barbershop. This also fulfilled a life long dream to become a barber. Mo was inspired by his longtime barber in Asheville, NC, Stanley Rice, of "Oakley Barbershop", to become a barber.
"Mo" purchased his first barber shop in February of 2008 in Holiday, Fl and had to leave Sunset Point for nine months, while he started up the business. The shop is doing great now and he is putting it on the market. If you know anyone that would like to buy a barbershop, let him know. "Mo" also has a part time business he started while attending barber school. He has a mowing business that has grown quite well over the past few years. Mo has been back at Sunset Point since November 2008.

John Bryson has joined us as a part time barber. He is from Fletcher,NC and has just moved down to the Clearwater area. John has owned and operated his barbershop in North Carolina for over 30 years. He will be working on Mondays and will be filling in on occassion.
